Series 13 – Durham and Cleveland

Police Interceptors is back once again in Durham and Cleveland. Featuring some of the most insightful and entertaining observational police work ever captured on camera, Police Interceptors shows you what life is really like for the cops who work hard to keep our streets safe and crime free.

Episode 1

Episode 1

When Jacko tries to stop a suspect car flagged up by his ANPR camera the driver decides to flee rather than stop and explain himself. Soon the reason becomes obvious as Jacko spots a suspicious package thrown from the speeding car’s window. When the car is eventually stopped, the driver’s far from friendly, forcing Jacko to get tough. Can a sniffer dog find the package thrown from the car and will a state-of-the-art roadside test find drugs in the driver’s system?  Next up, dog handler Liam Sewell is called in to help officers who have collared a man attempting to run from a suspected stolen car. With the help of his trusty sniffer dog Louis, Liam attempts get to the bottom of why the man was so keen to do a runner from the car in the first place.  Later, Liam and his canine companions attempt to track down a suspected burglar and help solve the mystery of a young driver who claims to have been talked into breaking the law by a family member.

The interceptor’s skills are put to the test as they go in hot pursuit of reckless youths who risk it all in a bid to escape the long arm of the law.  Jacko is on the hunt for a wanted teenager after he disappears in a housing estate.  The interceptors are hot on the heels of stolen silver Micra but can a classic Tpac put the brakes on the fleeing youth?  Interceptors Ian Stapley and Paul Dale get to grips with a 19-year-old runaway driver who notches up speeds of 120 miles an hour.  And the interceptors have to resort to a bit of brute force in a bid to bring a feeling driver to a halt.

The interceptors leave no stone unturned in their quest to sniff out the hiding places of criminals trying to avoid the long arm of the law.  Interceptor Liam Sewell hunts down a wanted teenager after a high-speed pursuit. Jacko plays a game of cat and mouse with a youth who flees on foot. But then receives a mysterious phone call, and Mark Gibbons and Steve Adey stop a suspicious man trying to hide his true identity.  And finally, Jacko deals with a suspected drug dealer who seems to have found a rather novel way of hiding his stash.

In Warrington dog handler Mark Sheenan tracks down a suspect who’s believed to be cultivating cannabis. But instead of coming quietly the guy decides to go a few rounds with Mark. Interceptor Jules Bennett is rushing to assist a fellow officer who’s stopped a group of lads in a car, which is loaded with a Gun, knives and a golf club. But what’s the lads excuse?
And in Durham Paul ‘Jacko’ Jackson is in a high speed pursuit through the streets of Bishop Auckland, as the reckless runaway breaks every law in the book in his attempt to escape justice. Also, in Cheshire Jim Hunt is given the run around by a group of lippy lads, but a quick search of the car soon wipes the smiles off their faces.

Episode 5 - Ortis Deley and Rick Edwards

Presenters Rick Edwards and Ortis Delay are granted unlimited access to the toughest law enforcers in the country as they take on their most difficult shift; from 7pm to 7am, when anything can happen. Our cameras follow officers throughout the night-shift as they pursue and arrest villains in one of the hardest parts of the UK to police.  This week Ortis is out with Interceptor Spike as they pursue a fleeing car that drives into a dead-end where the occupants decamp and bolt. Rick spends a night shift with dog handler Ian Squires as they’re called to back up the firearms squad after a report of a shotgun in a quiet suburban street.

In tonight’s show, Spike and dog handler Ian Squire pursue a twenty year old drunk driver who tries to lose them on a traveller’s site. Dangerously outnumbered, will the Interceptor’s make it back to the nick? Ben Sutcliffe goes head to head with a speeding boy racer and Spike switches four wheels for two as he gets on his bike to catch illegal off roadsters tearing it up on the beach. Also a simple stop for Ben uncovers a young drug driver, but it won’t be the first he’ll cross the Interceptors path.

A door knock arrest snowballs into a firearms stand off for Damien ‘Damo’ Stevens; Spike uncovers a stash of cannabis stored with lethal shotguns; Police dog Ronnie lands right on top of a wanted man; and Ben Sutcliffe legs it after a runaway driver. Plus, a pursuit for Spike ends up in a cannabis arrest and Paul Falkner catches a hit and run driver who kicks off in his car.

Paul Jackson and Carl Wood are in hot pursuit of a white van tearing up the turf in Willington. The chase then goes from four wheels to two legs in what turns out to be a family affair. Dog handler Liam Sewell ‘s new recruit – 2 year old German shepherd cross Titan, is on a midnight hunt for a runaway who’s hidden in a housing estate. Paul Faulkner chases round the local supermarkets on the hunt for a drunk behind the wheel, and Sgt Sam Turner discusses police policy with a disqualified driver who won’t accept he’s in the wrong. Also, the Interceptors are involved in a dangerous pursuit with a 4×4 whose driver puts a pedestrian’s life at risk.

Dog handler Darren Williamson calls on all his powers of persuasions to try and end a roof top stand-off; Spike breaks out a drug wipe for a teenage tearaway on two wheels, but will the biker heed his dad’s wise words; And Steve Adey is forced to use his pepper spray when a suspect refuses to come quietly. Plus, Tasers are drawn in a tense standoff with a man armed with a knife.

Paul “Mustard” Faulkner takes the lead in a dangerous high speed pursuit through the streets of Stockton, the driver and passengers ditch the car and hide out in the undergrowth. Justin Moffitt is put in severe danger by a man who has allegedly been threatening the public with a dirty needle, Damien ‘Damo’ Stevens leads the firearms team on a raid of a house where a man has been seen with a gun, and Spike hunts down a suspect Skoda whose owner is wanted for burglary and fuel theft. Plus we see what happens when the public take exception to the Iaw, as Lee Wilson locks up a particularly mouthy driver, and Spike stops a painter and decorator with no insurance – both of whom have a few choice words for these Interceptors.

Paul ‘Jacko’ Jackson is hot on the heels of a speeding Mazda, that’s crashing into vehicles and causing carnage. Sparks fly as The Interceptors raid a cannabis farm, hidden behind the façade of an abandoned restaurant. Spike and Richie hot foot it across some fields in pursuit of a suspected drug dealer, while a burglary suspect’s immortal words “To be honest with you Officer” fails to pull the wool over Justin Moffitt’s eyes. And finally, canine cop Shadow uses his superior schnozzle to sniff out some stolen booty.

A death defying car pursuit turns into a full-scale manhunt, but will Liam and police dog Titan sniff out the suspects? Eagle eyed Paul ‘Faulko’ Faulkner swoops in and takes two suspected drug dealers by surprise and the Interceptors are in a race to rescue a man struggling in the River Wear. Plus, it’s a knockout in Darlington as Damien ‘Damo’ Stevens finds a man unconscious after a punch up and a suspicious driver tries to outfox the Interceptors.
