Police Interceptors is back for a third series – following Essex police’s most sophisticated weapon in the war against crime.
This hand-picked and highly trained police unit are back & packing a powerful punch. Now armed with the new Evo Xs alongside Subaru Imprezas, Evo VIIIs and the high-tech Eurocopter, this highly successful, high speed pursuit team is ready to take the fight to the streets of Essex. Filmed over six months and based in Britain’s brashest county – with characters to match – the series will have petrol heads the length and breadth of the country drooling over the remote controls, as the pace never falters and the action never slackens.
Episode 1
This week, the team try and stop an out of control 4×4, mystery surrounds a phony ambulance and the chopper tracks down a pair of teenage car thieves.
Episode 2
A late-night pursuit spirals out of control, Rob and Emily unravel the mystery of a stolen winch and the chopper gets called to a nuisance rider in Loughton. Elsewhere in the county Gerry christens the new Evo 10, and the team spot Essex’s worst dressed car.
Episode 3
Essex’s finest race to intercept three men suspected of robbing a string of plumbers’ merchants. A fleeing van speeds the wrong way around a major roundabout and causes a huge crash. The interceptors investigate some illegally customised motors in Basildon. And a man mountain threatens to take on a whole street full of officers.
Episode 4
Biggers brings the Interceptors to bear against a stolen car on the M11, Paul nips a cannabis grower’s plans in the bud, and Grant’s prisoner goes – briefly – missing at a burger bar. In another part of Essex, the Interceptors get advanced training in the use of the mini-battering ram, aka “the Big Red Key”, Andy is first through the door in a series of drugs raids, and Steve has some trouble with a drunken sailor.
Episode 5
A husband is brutally attacked by his wife on the street, a stolen 4×4 ditches heads off road in an attempt to outrun the cops, and the team is on the trail of one of Essex largest stolen car operations.
Episode 6
Police negotiator Inspector Emma Brookes, has to talk a man down from a roof – but she’s 40 miles away. Can Biggers in the Evo get her there in time? Emily has no sympathy for a woman caught drinking and driving, Andy chases a suspected drug dealer into a bookmaker’s, and one of the fleet’s Evo 8’s comes a cropper on the A12. Elsewhere in Essex, the Air Support Unit tracks a fugitive car thief, a man is caught with a van full of stolen clothes, and Grant discovers the future of British pop music – in Brentwood. It’s all in a day’s work for the Police Interceptors.
Episode 7
Shaun and Grant stop a gang of car thieves on the job – and then make a sensational discovery. Biggers helps transform the streets of Clacton into a helipad to allow the air ambulance to land, and Emily, Steve and Russ nick two dodgy geezers with two dodgy vans. We follow an ANPR sting operation outside Essex’s biggest shopping centre and see how Andy and Biggers help get the M25 moving following a 3-car shunt which has brought it to a standstill. Elsewhere in the county Gerry nicks an 18-year-old who thinks he’s an expert in the law – while Andy helps an officer who’s dropped his hand cuffs down a drain.
Episode 8
The team’s perseverance pays off as a 2-day hunt for a stolen 4×4 leads to an arrest, a tip off in Clacton sends the Interceptors hot on the trail of a drugs den, and the Essex chopper coordinates a massive man hunt as three suspects flee into a field full of cattle. Also in the programme it’s smiles all round as Russ and Amy showcase the Subaru at a Colchester fete, and the team stumble across a shifty looking postman.
Episode 9 - Winter Special
In this snow-filled special episode, the New Year’s Eve celebrations turn serious when a man threatens police officers with a knife, and the Interceptors go in with full riot gear. Tasers make another appearance when the Air Support Unit tracks fugitives across 6 lanes of traffic, and Biggers seizes a big bag of drugs – but isn’t sure which drugs they are. Elsewhere, the snow brings chaos to the roads of Essex, Grant sees red over a child without a seatbelt, and Rob gets more air than he bargained for when his trousers give up on him.
Episode 10
Biggers and Andy track down a suspected drug runner on the M25. Emily and Grant join forces with Ofcom to raid an illegal pirate radio station, and the EVO 10 goes down a storm with thousands of boy racers at the National car cruise.
Episode 11
The team is deployed to hunt down a gang of burglars responsible for stealing a large plasma TV and the officer’s carry out an impairment test on a suspected drug-driver. Elsewhere in the county Shawn and Grant stop three shady suspects armed with a burglar’s tool kit and the team test out their driving skills on the new Subaru driving simulator.
Episode 12
World Cup fever hit Essex, and Essex hits back. The Interceptors have their hands full with public order patrols, well into the night. A race-hate hooligan breaches the terms of his ASBO, a petrol thief reveals the scale of his ambition with a 200-gallon fuel tank, and a suspected drug dealer can’t give a convincing reason for his nosebleed. Elsewhere in the county, Rob Barlow scours 200 acres of woodland for a dumper truck, the Air Support Unit shuts the Dartford River Crossing in the hunt for stolen vehicles, and Shaun finds a bald patch – on a teenage boy racer’s tyres.
Episode 13
Biggers & Andy track down some thirsty thieves who’ve just robbed a supermarket. Shaun and Grant pull over a bad-mannered biker and Emily isn’t fooled when a disqualified driver pretends to be someone else.
Episode 14
The Essex chopper pursues an armed robber that will do anything to escape the law, and PC Russ Gay has his work cut out taming a group of drunken youths thrashing a moped around a car-park. Also on the programme the team’s new recruits put their detective skills to the test when they collar a pair of suspected burglars, and Zippy the sniffer dog makes an interesting discovery in a stolen car.
